CIRCLES OF CONFUSION By April Henry

Claire did the work to judge license plate in Portland. She knew it by a call from her mother, who reports that Claire's great-aunt has died. Her mobile home was bequeathed to Claire. Legacies were all waste. But, she discovered a beautiful picture from under the bed. She seemed that a picture was a worthwhile thing.
She flew to New York to have a picture appraised. It was estimated that Troy to work in the auction house was a counterfeit. At the Metropolitan Museum of Art, however, artist's Dante says that the picture may be an authentic Vermeer. Claire is at a loss which of two attractive men should be believed. In such circumstance, she is exposed to the various danger.

It is a romantic suspense. I was able to read being interested though I did not know Vermeer. It gets excited by mysterious atmosphere. However, mystification is a little. In Japan, it is a story of the type that became popular in the past.
